Since 1982, Women of the Summit has helped women in Summit County build connection, confidence and stability. The mission has stayed the same for more than forty years: Support her. Champion her. Give her community and resources so she can grow.
Connections That Cover The County
Women of the Summit creates spaces where women feel supported through workshops, training sessions, outdoor meetups, and networking events. The need for connection is clear. Participation has grown into a steady and committed community to nearly 900 attendees this year from 570 attendees in 2022. In the last four years, Women of the Summit has held more than 200 events bringing women together to learn, share, and build relationships that make Summit County stronger.
Events That Deliver Meaningful Value
Our many event types play different roles in supporting local women, helping them feel rooted in the county and confident in their next steps.
Lunch panels and conferences focused on professional topics draw the largest groups
Networking events create connections and mentorship
Workshops offer practical tools women can apply right away
Social and coffee meetups spark friendships that often turn into long-term support
Volunteering events help us give back to our community
Outdoor events provide an opportunity to connect with each other and nature
The Women @ Work Grant
The Women @ Work Grant provides targeted financial support for women building businesses, gaining stability or advancing careers. Grant program participation has grown from 32 applicants in 2022 to a record 49 this year. Every dollar stays within the county and supports real women working toward stable futures. Women have used grant funds to:
Start or expand local businesses
Pursue certifications, post-graduate education, or job training
Access childcare during career transitions
Purchase equipment needed for new opportunities
Why This Work Matters for Summit County
Women who receive support often become the ones who mentor, hire, and uplift the next wave of local leaders. When women grow, the entire community benefits through:
A stronger local workforce
More resilient small businesses
Greater financial stability for families
A stronger sense of community
Make Your Donations Matter
Without fundraising, we would be unable to do this critical work. As an organization, our overhead remains incredibly low, so almost all donations go directly to the women we serve. A $500 donation supports a networking or professional event. Larger gifts of $2,500 or $5,000 provide the foundation for Women @ Work Grants, helping women build careers and grow businesses.
These impactful dollars stay in Summit County where they can multiply and uplift the entire community. When you give to Women of the Summit, you are investing in the women who shape Summit and in the future we build together.
This season, we invite you to give generously. Help a woman rise. Help Summit rise.
